D. Tonias - Lunatics [Polytechnic]

Today at PP we want to present you young producer from Greece D. Tonias and his upcoming track on Polytechnic Recordings. Dimitris Tonias was born in Kavala-Greece on February 1986. His first interest in music was triggered by some guitar lessons in his early childhood and few years later electronic dance music was the big deal for him. He has been heavily influenced by the sounds of Sasha, J. Digweed, S. Kleinenberg and D. Seaman, to name a few. Being the host of a radio show in his hometown for three years gave him the opportunity to gain very positive feedback and the chance to participate to a number of events as well. D.Tonias is now having a real bash into music production after his first collaboration on "First Bullet" with his very good friend Distant Fragment.
D. Tonias latest track Lunatic is going to be released in the upcoming Polytechnic Album Samper 005 called 'Polyrhythm' and the track title is 'D.Tonias - Lunatics'. The release date is February 9th, 2010 and it's going to be on Beatport exclusive at first and then in the rest digital mp3 stores. It is already supported by Shiloh, Sander Van Doorn, PROFF, Solarity, Matt Cerf, Ad Brown / Maxi Valvona, Embliss, Ben Coda, Luke Porter, Distant Fragment, Matt Black, Fady Ferraye, Carlos Russo, Sasha Le Monnier, amongst others.
Also, a full 'Lunatics' EP on Polytechnic will be released later in 2010 along with remixes. Here u can check Lunatics Original mix, so feel free to drop some comments if u got some spare time.

Nick Stoynoff - Come Back [SILKTX001]

Silk Music Publishing is proud to kick off the new year with the launch of its fourth and final division, "Silk Textures". With a focus on deep house, deep progressive and deep tech house, the new imprint looks forward to highlighting the work of new artists on the horizon, as well as well-known Silk veterans who occasionally find the inspiration to delve a bit deeper. Nick Stoynoff (Particles, Nightshade, Audio Logic) is a fitting choice for the debut release. Not only has Nick captured Silk's imagination this past year with his distinctive, prog-influenced variety of deep house, but he also co-hosts the popular "Silk Textures" Proton radio show, formerly hosted by label manager Max Flyant. This two-track EP begins with "Walk Away," a dark, textural gem underscored by a moody, low-end energy. The tune centers on a haunting female wail, which, as the name implies, evokes a conflicted soul on the brink of leaving a troubled relationship. The second tune in the package, "Come Back," includes a similar vocal motif and overall brooding emotional quality. Yet, relative to the first, there is a greater "lightness of being" to the tune, a sensation that is underscored by an assortment of subtle arpeggios, as well as a fragile piano solo in the main break.

Kobana & Hatchet - Play [SILK024]

Polish team Kobana and Hatchet (Im proud of them bcoz im from Poland too ;) ) cut the ribbon of the new year with the soothing, sophisticated, and melodically rich "Play." The Original Mix begins with an unassuming, stripped down rhythm, a deep, oscillating synth, and the central piano riff of the track, a recurrent motif that ushers the listener onward. A lovely treat also awaits in the breakdown: an uplifting new lead synth sequence, which infuses a more radiant energy to the track. The duo also has provided a Dub Mix, which, as expected, is a deeper, more rhythmically complex interpretation. Daniel Mahuad, whose "Cerro de la Silla" was a highlight from last year, provides the first of three mixes; his take offers a shuffling, glitchy groove and a spacial atmosphere. A vocal sample also is added here, as well as heavily filtered tech stabs. Luiz B, who also made a prominent contribution to the label last year with "Song of Life," builds off of the melodies and textures of the original, with fluttering delay lines and wind-based effects. Finally, the driving Nick Stoynoff remix offers a dark, chunky bassline and aggressive rhythm. As the lead elements from the original slowly creep in, the track triumphantly evolves into melodic progressive stormer.

Atlantis Ocean - Life Frequency [SILKRL008]

Atlantis Ocean emphatically launch 2010 for Silk Royal with the anthemic "Life Frequency." This rising Russian duo have crafted a powerful and emotionally resonant peak-hour killer, with a spellbinding lead melodic hook. Equally potent is the low-end energy of the track, underpinned by a furious rhythm section and swell-like, cavernous texture. As to be expected, the climax arrives during the main break, which pays tribute to the Deadmau5 classic "Jaded." Fresh off the recent Do Mo Chailin EP, Sean Marx has provided an elegant interpretation; albeit structurally similar to the original, subtle rhythmic and melodic touches have been added here, including a dancing arp line and a gorgeous, harmonically rich edit to the main lead. Rounding out the package, Silk veteran Playton offers another dancefloor friendly option, with a creatively "modernized" main groove, as well as brilliantly re-worked lead and side melodies.

Alaa - Maharashtra / Kerala [NELIE037]

Swedish producer and Nellie co-owner Alaa El-Bechlaoui is finally here with new original work. This time around he left his normal style to explore something new. With "Maharashtra" he approached the more classical view of progressive house combined with a break that can be described as the calm before the storm. "Kerala" on the other hand got a more jolly vibe but still with a very proggy build up.
Both tracks have received very nice responses from a wide variety of DJ's and producers. Alaa might be on to something good here!

Seamus Haji, Dino Psaras feat. Rudi - My Destiny (Inc. Egostereo Remix) [BL050]

Seamus Haji teams up with fellow Brightoner, Techno DJ Dino Psaras. Dino' old skool Detroit techno-flavoured mix oozes a warmth seldom heard these days with Rudi's haunting vocal getting in your head.
Seamus Haji's more current take which adds a super-catchy bass riff and milks the vocal hooks has been gaining lots of attention during recent gigs and radio guest spots.
Remixes comes from the up&coming Nino Anthony who delivers a bumping techy/tribal mix for the big rooms. Italys high rising Egostereo keep the main room feel but work the progressive house area with buckets of emotion. Michele Chiavarini (long serving Joey Negro co-hort and member of The Sunburst Band) creates an incessant piano & string driven mix for the funkier floors.
Already receiving very eraly support from Roger Sanchez, DJ Dan, Kaskade, Stonebridge and Norman Doray.
This stand-out track with it's simple message is a perfect entry to the new decade!

The main pick here is Egostereo Remix!

EDX - Party Of Politics [TOOL085/012]

Maurizio Colella aka EDX has climbed the ladder of house music notoriety in record time helped by his eponymous productions.

The Italian born producer and DJ now based in Switzerland exploded onto the scene in 2007 with his remix of Dubfire’s “Roadkill” for Toolroom. Since then he has remixed the likes of Deadmau5, Armand van Helden, Axwell, Steve Angello, Sucker DJs, Michael Procter, Kool & The Gang, Lauryn Hill and Armin van Buuren, to name but a few. His recent mix of Funkagenda’s “Breakwater” on Toolroom also featured in Beatport’s Top 50 Bestsellers of 2009.

His unique sound and the musicality of his work set him apart in a world of formulaic house music and has undoubtedly established him as one of the hottest names on the scene which is why Toolroom are pleased to announce EDX’s return to Toolroom Records with his original release, “Party Of Politics”!!.

Building on solid four to the floor beats and heavily swung hats, EDX’s mastery of chord changes and atmospheric pads with a spoken vocal floating on top creates a dancefloor winner that will appeal to a wide audience from progressive to tech house fans of the label.

House music legend Pete Heller steps up with a fantastic interpretation of the original, it’s a haunting slice of main room action with subtle chord changes and a rolling groove.

The Mark Mendes remix leans toward that ‘Mannheim’ sound which is massive on the cooler underground floors, with a prominent rolling bass line, heavy on percussion and excellent use of the filter to create the tension as the bass drops back in.

Still flying high from the success of his debut on Toolroom, Pete Griffiths steps up to the plate making good use of the vocal and original parts to create an intense euphoric remix. Pete’s signature sound is evolving nicely he is definitely a name to watch out for.

Maxi Valvona - Revolve [MCSL012]

The 12th release on microCastle sees Ad Brown under his Maxi Valvona alias with a two track EP and a great set of remixes. This release will cap off one of the most successful years that any producer on the brink could hope to have. In 2009 Ad Brown has had no less than 20 productions and remixes on various top labels including: Black Hole, AnjunaDeep, Silk Royal and Enhanced just to name a few. Revolve is on of Ads biggest productions to date with its monster bass stabs, awesome drive and another mesmerizing breakdown that he seems to be able to top with each production. Peppermint is a deep prog groover with some sublime piano work which would be well-suited for the earlier part of a club night.

microCastle is pleased to announce the formation of a new production super group. Dousk, Kassey Voorn & Speerit who are 3 very well-established greek producers in their own right have joined forces as Mojawi This Revolve remix for microCastle is their first official production together and we look forward to many more! The trio have transformed Maxis original into a cool, deep groove with lots of added original vocal elements making for what we feel is one of the finest remix productions on microCastle to date. Early support on this mix comes from John Digweed, Nick Warren, Laurent Garnier, Eelke Kleijn and Jerome Isma to name just a few.

Finlands Matti Heininen and Erkka Lempiainen return to microCastle under their Komytea alias for a second remix. This duo is also known for their work under the mysterious & heartfelt Michael Cassette project, Squash 84 and Oire. The duo have turned a really thick, mean and chunky rendition of the Original. The bass stabs and overall bottom end is truly rib cage rattling. Every die hard dance music fan will recognize the trademark Komytea production here but just how do they get those sounds so massive?

Los Angeles Darin Epsilon gives us the final remix on the Revolve package. Darins production work has been growing in popularity over the last year as he has appeared on top labels such as: Perfecto & Baroque. On his Revolve remix Darin has turned in a deep bottom heavy groover that has already found favour with Jody Wisternoff & Miss Nine. Nice atmospherics and a massive club friendly bottom end are what make this mix so great and accessible to a wide range of dancefloors.

KEY DJ SUPPORT comes from: Andy Moor, Armin van Buuren, Axwell, Eddie Halliwell, John Digweed, Jody Wisternoff, Hernan Cattaneo, Laurent Garnier, Marco V, Marcus Schossow, Matt Darey, Nick Warren, Paul van Dyk, and many many more!

Audible - Blackout (Original Mix) by nellierecordings

Ola Pettersson, also known as Audible, finally came up with a worthy and more proper follow-up to his big hit "White Mouse" in early 2009. The raw synth hook is back and the energy is just as great. This is the type of track that gets a big crowd completely wild. Make sure to pick up your copy on Beatport!

Big support by Sied Van Riel, W&W, Ruben de Ronde, Niklas Harding and Jonas Stenberg to name a few.

16 Bit Lolitas - Cold Energy / Smoke Signals [ANJDEE061D]

It was off the back of a series of originals and remixes from the fabled ‘Warung Brazil 001’ compilation that first took the 16 Bit Lolitas to Anjunadeep as cuts such as the ruthless groover ‘Murder Weapon’ brought Ariaan and Peter into the spotlight and their sounds into our headphones. This double A-side E.P. marks their long-awaited return and serves up another two slices of the finer side of prog house.

Kicking things off is ‘Cold Energy’; insistent, mesmerising basslines, tenderly resonating vocals and chilly atmospheres give this deliciously deep track a shadowy, twilight feel. The meandering ‘Smoke Signals’ then proceeds to close the E.P. on a more minimal note with eight minutes of spine-chilling soundscapes and undeniably eerie melodies.

Exclusive Interview with T-Pe3

Hello Boys & Girls. Today we have another interview for you. This time with young talent from Italy - T-Pe3(the left in the picture). Few days ago, recommended his latest release "Message From The Stars"- The Clubbers.

Well we all want to know how it all started with you and the music. What’s your story?

First of all i have to say that 4 years ago when i was still 14 i hated house music and all night life in general;

I was very into rap, hip hop you know, i had all this large clothes hats and so on but then everything changed when i went to a boat cruise and there there was also a little club and that's how i became a fanatic of house music. Then I first bought a Hercules mk2 midi controller and i tried to mix some music but i wasn't that good at the beginnig.
Later on i started producing myself some music first with fruity loops and then with Ableton wich i still use and i consider the best softwere for windows.

We also know you’re based in Italy. What is the scene like over there? Is the progressive scene small? What can you tell us about it?

In Italy there are a lot of great producer known all over the world for their progressive sounds like Thomas Schwartz , Edx, Luigi Lusini also is on fire right now he is making great tracks and yes also Matteo Marini is a font of inspiration for me.
But here in Italy Progressive house is not very popular at the moment, here people prefer Tech House, Techno or in the underground clubs Dirty Electro almost near Fidget House.
Where I live, near Venice you can find big clubs like Muretto or Area Venezia, offering to the crowd the best in the tech house or techno scene with guest from all over the world, or you can go to some underground clubs and you can listen to Steve Aoki, The Bloody Beetroots, crookers and so on.
But unfortunately you can't find a club specialized in Progressive House

Were came the name T-Pe3 from?

I'm not so sure about it, but i think it's because my name is Tommaso so T is explained, then My surname is Pascon and that also is explained!
And in the end 3 because i was born on the 03 of August.
I have to say that i don't like T-Pe3 at all but it's the historical nickname so i have to be faithful to it.

What equipment do you use in studio?

I don't have a real studio, i just use my Toshiba with ableton live and the speakers of my dj system.
And yes when i have to master the tracks i use my headphones.

Your 3 - 5 favorite tracks at the moment?

1- T-Pe3 - Made To be together 2- Deadmau5 - Strobe 3- Daniel Steinberg - Rush Me (Format B. Remix) 4- Dankann - Genesis 5- Christian Smith ft. Reset Robot - Air Miles (2000 And One DJ Madskillz Remix)

Your Favorite Producer ?

My favourite producer is edx for progressive house. All his song are just amazing and perfect!
But also i like Format: B and Popof, off course they don't make progressive but we have to be open to every style of music.

What can we expect from you in the future?

I have just finished a new remix for E.N.R another guy from The Clubbers but he still have to send the demos to Fausto Fanizza (Owner of the label) so we are not sure of this release.
Then i have a new release for the early 2010 on whist records but they are still waiting for a remix by Francesco P.
And maybe it will be released on The Clubbers also a vocal version of my track Hourora with a remix also from Thomas Schwartz and Fausto Fannizza, but that is still not sure beacuse they are trying to convince the singer to sign with them.
And then i have just started a new project, i still don't know the name, but i'm going to produce some fidget house tracks; if everything will go like I wish you will listen to it soon.
Thank you too for the interview guys. You are making great works.
And if someone is interested i have my youtube channel where i post all my new mixes, songs and so on, you can find me here

Anjunadeep:01 emerged as one of 2009’s most critically celebrated dance compilations, garnering album of the month slots and remaining in recommended album sections months after release, culminating in a nomination for best British record label*.

For the second installment, Above & Beyond hand over mixing duties to Anjunadeep A&R James Grant and Jaytech, their opening DJ of choice. Each mixing one CD, the pair bring together 28 exclusive tracks and mixes from the label's varied and multi-talented roster.

Anjunadeep:02 demonstrates why the imprint has become the master navigator of the murky waters that lie somewhere between house, techno and trance, winning fans such as Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, James Zabiela and Eric Prydz along the way. Both discs showcase a unique melodic style that is spacey, hypnotic and at times soulful, underlining the widescreen vision of label owners Above & Beyond.

For CD 1, Grant’s mix weaves together tracks and remixes from 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, Oliver Smith, Solarity, BT (‘Flaming June’ remix by Jaytech & Grant), and more.

On CD 2, Jaytech, whose artist album, ‘Everything Is OK’, received widespread plaudits in 2009, seamlessly blends productions from Paul Keeley, Martin Roth, Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer, Marcus Schossow, Jamie Matrix and beyond.

All i know is that this Anjunadeep:02 will be huge, and this upcomign Jody Wisternoff track is just awesome! Anjunadeep:02 release date is 15.02.2010.
